Cardiovascular disease involves a group of diseases that are associated with the heart. Sedentary behavior is a high-risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease and there are various mechanisms to explain this correlation, such as high blood pressure. A sedentary lifestyle causes an increase in blood pressure. High blood pressure is a condition which occurs when the pressure on the walls of the arteries becomes higher than normal. High blood pressure is a serious risk factor for a heart problem. Also, obesity is another risk factor for cardiovascular disease and sedentary behavior is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease.
