How Glioz 20 Mg Capsule (Temozolomide) Works:

Glioz 20 mg Capsule has an active ingredient; Temozolomide. Upon administration, Temozolomide undergoes rapid, nonenzymatic hydrolysis at physiological pH to MTIC, which is the active form of the drug. MTIC is generated as a result of water at the highly electropositive C4 position of Temozolomide. It causes the ring of Temozolomide to open & release carbon dioxide, resulting in the generation of MTIC. Temozolomide is not active until it is changed at physiologic pH to MTIC. Then MTIC alkylates DNA at the O3 position of adenosine, N7 position of guanine, & O6 position of guanosine, with the most common site being the N7 position. This methylation of guanine residues leads to single & double-strand DNA breaks and subsequent apoptotic cell death.
