Before You Use Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost):

Make sure that:

  • You are not allergic to Travoprost
  • You are not using contact lenses
  • Your doctor knows about your Surgeries, Pre-existing disease, and Medications, etc.

What Should You Avoid While Taking Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost):

  • Avoid using Contact Lenses 15 min prior to or after its use
  • Avoid Driving or any other important activity as it may cause blurred vision for a few minutes
  • Avoid taking Medicines without prescriptions
  • Avoid the use of another eye drop within 5-10 min of its use

When Not To Use Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost):

You should avoid Travoprost if you:

Dosage:

Travatan 40 Mcg contains an active ingredient, Travoprost, which is used to treat the increasing pressure in the eye/ Glaucoma. Consult your doctor for the frequency and dose as age and severity of the disease differ from patient to patient.

Patients are advised to take Travatan 40 Mcg at a fixed time, preferably in the evening time or prescribed by your doctor. It is not recommended for Children or infants.

How Much Of The Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost) to Be Used:

Patients are always advised to follow their doctor’s instructions to use Travoprost eye drops. It is better to take one drop each eye at once in a day.

You are advised not to use the eye drops more frequently or more than once a day as more frequent administration of prostaglandins may decrease the intraocular pressure lowering effect.

How To Take The Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost):

Travatan Eye Drops should be taken at a fixed time once or twice a day as directed by your doctor. Instill the eye drops by holding the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Then, gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra Liquid with a clean cloth or Tissue.

After instilling the eye drops apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute so that the medicine does not drain away from the eye.

For How Long Should You Continue Using Travatan 40 Mcg (Travoprost)

Patients are advised to use the eye drops as prescribed by your doctor. You are not advised to take it in a large amount or for a longer time than recommended.

Overdose:

Rinse your eyes thoroughly with water in case of any irritation or itching but contact your doctor immediately if you are suspecting the overdose symptoms like Pain, swelling,  itching, dryness, etc. in the eye.

Do not give your medication to anybody having similar symptoms as it may cause severe side effects to them. Suggest them to visit the doctor for any symptom.

Missed Dose:

A missed dose of the Eye Drops should be taken as soon as you remember. Skip the dose you missed if it is the time for the next dose. Do not take double or multiple doses next time to make up the missed dose.
