It is used to treat Angina (chest pain), heart failure & in patients with certain heart conditions like Coronary heart disease.
Sorbitrate-5 dilates/widens blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow through them and easier for the heart to pump.

Sorbitrate-5 contains 5 mg of Isosorbide Dinitrate.
Isosorbide can be taken as a tablet that is swallowed with a glass of water or as a sublingual, placed under the tongue. The doctor can prescribe from 5 mg to 20 mg, two or three times a day to prevent chest pain. Please maintain a gap of 18 hours between the last dose of the day and the first dose of the next day to avoid building a tolerance to the drug. Don't take more than 480 mg of drug in a day.
It can be swallowed with a glass of water or can be taken sublingual (placed under the tongue). It is better to take Sorbitrate-5 empty stomach (1 hour before food or 2 hours after food). Don’t crush or break the tablet.
It is always advisable to consult your physician before you start/stop taking the drug. Avoid taking such decisions on your own and do not self-medicate.
A missed dose should be taken as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take multiple doses at the same time
