Oflo 5 ml is a prescription-based antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections. It also helps prevent post-surgery inflammation or infection. It is an Ofloxacin 0.3% w/v formula, containing an FDA-approved fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is manufactured by Sunways (India) Pvt. Ltd. in a WHO GMP-certified facility.
Ofloxacin works by inhibiting the replication of bacterial DNA. This means that it prevents bacteria from growing and multiplying. As a result, it treats eye infections, including Bacterial Conjunctivitis, Corneal Ulcers and infected eye discharge. The dosing schedule and treatment duration will depend on the type and severity of infection.
Use Oflo eye drops exactly as advised by your doctor. For Conjunctivitis, 4 drops are commonly used 4 times daily, which are then reduced as the infection improves. Do not skip any doses and complete the full course even if symptoms improve early. Discontinuation can cause the infection to worsen or return.
Oflo antibiotic eye drops may temporarily sting, burn, or blur vision. So, avoid driving at this time. Skip contact lenses until the infection has completely healed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and those with existing eye conditions must consult their doctor before use.
Store Oflo eye drops at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate unless advised on the label. Use it within 4 weeks of opening and discard any remaining solution.

Yes, Oflo 5 ml eye drops are safe for children over 1 year when medically advised. They are often prescribed for Bacterial Pink Eye or Keratitis in kids. Pediatric dosing is typically lower than adult dosage and will be determined by an ophthalmologist.
Ofloxacin eye drop or ophthalmic solution begins working within 24 to 48 hours by reducing bacterial growth and associated symptoms. Full therapeutic effect, however, occurs after 3 to 5 days of consistent application.
Side effects of Oflo 0.3% 5 ml eye drops include temporary stinging, burning, redness, itching and blurred vision. These are mild and resolve on their own. Severe allergic reactions may occur, although they are rare.
For adults, 1-2 drops of Ofloxacin is advised every 2-4 hours on the first 2 days. For kids, the initial maximum dosage is 1-2 drops every 2-4 hours. Thereafter, both need 1 or 2 drops 4 times daily during days 3-7. Consult your ophthalmologist for a proper dosing schedule.
Stop Oflo 5 ml eye drops only after completing the full prescribed course, which is typically 7-10 days. Do not discontinue on your own, even if symptoms resolve earlier, to prevent antibiotic resistance and recurring infections.
